A GILT-BRONZE FIGURE OF A DOG

MING DYNASTY (1368-1644)

HEIGHT: 7.9CM

The dog is cast with its head facing left, a ribbon flapping along its shoulders and above its haunches, resting on a lobed rectangular base with straight sides and a splayed apron, terminating in four corners with stylised ruyi-shaped feet. The bronze surface is covered with a rich layer of gilding.
